The secret to Tiger Woods' US Masters success, plus fans get it on during game
SO, the Tiger is back. Or at least was - since his magnificent fourth place at the US Masters, it seems the golfing great plans to take another break from the game and return at the US Open in June, the second major of the season.
Unless you're not a sports fan - in which case I have no idea why you'd be reading this - you can't have missed news of Tiger roaring once more at Augusta.
To come fourth after such a long time away from the game, and in the face of such incredible pressure and scrutiny, was a truly remarkable feat. Indeed, it may be one of the most outstanding achievements of his career. He may not be the perfect man he was advertised to be, but as a golfer he is still THE man.
For me, one shot said it all at the Masters. Faced with an impossible path/angle to the green on the ninth hole - trees and fans in the way - Tiger simply did what he does and bent the ball out round the obstacles before whipping it back onto the green. Incredible.
Enjoy it here, as part of his first round highlights package.
Of course, we were all left wondering exactly how Tiger managed to put together such a successful comeback. News and sports satire website The Onion suggests he may have had a little moral support.
In a final, unrelated link - although it's hardly out of place in a story featuring TW - I bring you news of two excited Chicago White Sox baseball fans getting so carried away with the start of the season that they did the dirty in a stadium toilet.
It just so happened that the theme of the day was "Rock the Sox". And apparently, when the male member of the horizontal hula party emerged from the stall having rocked said socks, high-fives and 'hooting and hollering' were the order of the day.
That, ladies and gents, is the personification of class.
