The first 20 minutes of this game were confined mostly to midfield exchanges with Cranes holding the territorial advantage. Vince for Cranes headed over Wade’s pinpoint right wing cross and then after 23 mins Chaplin for Fram blasted high and wide from a good position inside the penalty area. Right on half time Vince wasted another good opportunity again heading wide when well placed. Early in the second half Towns shot wildly over with the goal at his mercy before Fram put together the best move of the match after 56 mins. Following some nice build up play Chaplin found himself in the clear but again he failed to trouble with keeper as he lashed the ball over the bar. Just after the hour the hard working Vincent had his goalbound header superbly palmed away by Chaplin in the home goal. The deciding goal came from Cranes after 67 mins with a neat reverse pass by Nuttall being fired home low into the bottom right hand corner of the net from 15 yards by Cooper with the Fram keeper Nunn getting his fingers to the ball but he was unable to prevent it crossing the line. As the game was petering away Vincent latched on to through ball and was obstructed on the edge of the area and the resultant free kick was wasted. Overall Cranes just about shaded it in a game which was well controlled by referee Brian Chapman.
