GARY Thompson has tendered his resignation as first team manager with Ridgeons Premier League side Whitton United.
Gary took over the reins following the departure of Ronnie Mauge in the middle of the 2007/08 season and had an immediate impact on the squad. Together with his assistant, Neil Gregory, Gary took Whitton into the Premier League of the Eastern Counties League at his first attempt.
Despite having an unlucky start to the season, Whitton have slowly found their feet and have claimed impressive victories recently against Ely City and Harwich & Parkeston, though their inconsistent form showed by losing the next two games.
Gary will be in charge of the team for his last match on Boxing Day when Whitton are at home against fellow strugglers Felixstowe & Walton Utd.
The club wishes to thank both Gary and Neil for their hard work in getting the club to where they are, and wishes them good luck in their future endeavours.
If anyone is interested in the position of first team manager then please email the club secretary on email@example.com as soon as possible.
Whitton United have also an opening for a reserves team manager following the departure of Daniel Cattermole. The reserves play in the Eastern Counties Reserves (North) league and the manager would have the full support of the Whitton Youth academy.
The position of Chairman at Whitton United has been a hard position to fill, and despite a number of people expressing an interest over the past few months no clear candidate has emerged.
Therefore if there is anyone else who is interested in becoming the Chairman of one of Ipswich’s oldest non-league clubs please email the secretary on firstname.lastname@example.org
