Cops took the 3 points at Trimley on Saturday with a 2-1 win. After a decent start from the home side Cops dominated the first half and should have had more to show than their 1-0 lead, courtesy of a fine individual effort from Yani Duka. TRD were much improved after the break and their talented young players came to the fore.
However, Cops defended well and after a couple of chances on the break they extended their lead when Jack Dawson outsmarted his marker and squared for Dave King to fire home. Reserves striker King had already struck a fine shot against the bar and he applied a perfect finish. Trimley grabbed a late goal from Ricardo Phillips but Cops held out for the win.
It was good to catch up with Graham at Trimley and many thanks to him and TRD for their hospitality. The Referee, Mr Ship, who was being assessed had a fine match and was well supported by his senior Assistants, Mssrs Cousins and Woodward.
With players away on holiday Cops drafted in Bailey Fairweather to keep goal and he had a fine debut appearance - his handling and kicking were top drawer. Our thanks go to Debenham LC for their support in Cops making the signing. Cops have also signed Seth Duzgun this season who is proving to be a top quality acquisition along with Joe Francis, both former players for the Club. Francis was missing on holiday on Saturday but should be back for the Achilles game next Saturday together with our latest signing, Lee Willcox - this will be at Wanderers ko 2.30pm.
The A Team started their season against Stowupland Falcons Reserves and went down 2-1. Apparently they had enough chances to win the match but their only goal by Jordan King was not enough. Not a great start for new Gaffers, Robbo and Goldie, but they will be hoping to bounce back next week when they visit Henley Athletic Reserves ko 2.30pm. In the meantime they are looking for a new goalkeeper; all interest can be directed to the Manager, email
The Reserves are also back in action next week as they take on Sporting 87 Reserves at Humber Doucy Lane. This is the first date when both the 1st team and Reserves are together at Wanderers...Forza Cops.
